Mobile World Congress 2008, Barcelona, Spain/Espoo, Finland - Nokia President and CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo reinforced the company's vision of combining the benefits and opportunities of the Internet by unveiling a new line up of converged devices and services that promote collaboration and sharing. The Nokia N96, Nokia N78, Nokia 6220 classic and Nokia 6210 Navigator all exhibit different location based and multimedia experiences from pedestrian navigation to geotagging and movie viewing to video and photo sharing. Nokia sees that location based services, such as mapping and navigation are to be a fundamental platform in mobile devices going forward. The company also revealed the next step towards its Ovi Internet service environment by introducing 'Share on Ovi', a personal media sharing community that makes it easy to upload, manage and share personal media.

On February 11, 2008 - Nokia and Google announced that Google's popular search engine will be integrated with the Nokia Search application.  The integration will begin in select markets with the Nokia N96, Nokia N78, Nokia 6210 Navigator and Nokia 6220 classic. Google search will be extended to additional Nokia handset models in the future. Ultimately, Nokia will make Google search available to its customers in over 100 countries around the world, serving mobile owners speaking more than 40 languages.

On February 10, 2008 – Sony Ericsson announced the launch of the new Z770, an elegant clamshell phone optimised for the web and benefiting from HSDPA data speeds. This classic-looking clamshell phone offers capabilities beyond expectation. It is designed to make it straightforward to surf the web or receive the latest news, and the ‘email set-up wizard’ makes it simple to access your inbox. The Z770 can also be connected directly to a laptop (via USB cable) and can be used as a modem.

On February 10, 2008 Microsoft Corp. announced at Mobile World Congress 2008, that Sony Ericsson will deliver a new Windows Mobile phone, the XPERIA X1, which blends mobile Web communication and multimedia entertainment, to meet consumer demand for a premium mobile experience for work and play.
